	BEER TIP: “Is that skunk I smell?” or “Is Heineken supposed to taste like this?” Ultraviolet and fluorescent light interacts with chemical components in hops to create a skunk-like aroma and flavor. Cans or brown glass bottles block harmful light waves, protecting beer from “skunking.” Green glass and clear bottles do not. Always look for light-blocking outer packaging when buying imports in green or clear glass. Take unprotected beer from the back of the shelf. It will be fresher and somewhat shielded from the light.
